Sponsor Refund Policy

This policy applies to all USN sponsorship contracts entered during the founding phase. Please read it carefully before completing your sponsorship agreement. By signing a sponsorship contract you agree to this policy in full.

1. Overview

USN offers a 90-day satisfaction guarantee on all annual sponsorship packages. This guarantee allows sponsors to cancel within the first 90 days of their contract and receive a prorated refund based on unused advertising days. After the 90-day satisfaction guarantee period has expired, no refunds are issued under any circumstances.

This policy is designed to be fair to sponsors while protecting the financial integrity of the Platform and honoring USN's obligations to its athlete community.

2. How the Daily Rate is Calculated

All USN sponsorship contracts are annual. To determine refund eligibility, the total contract value is divided by the number of contract days to establish a daily advertising rate.

Example: A sponsor pays $1,200 for a 365-day contract. The daily rate is $1,200 divided by 365 which equals $3.29 per day.

Logo display on the USN Platform begins on the contract start date. Logo display fees are included in the daily rate calculation and are not separately refundable.

3. Refunds Within the 90-Day Satisfaction Guarantee Period

Sponsors who cancel their contract within 90 days of the contract start date are eligible for a prorated refund calculated as follows:

Refund amount equals the total contract value minus the number of days used multiplied by the daily rate. Days used is calculated from the contract start date to the cancellation effective date.

Example: A sponsor pays $1,200 for a 365-day contract with a daily rate of $3.29. They cancel on day 30. Days used equals 30. Value used equals 30 multiplied by $3.29 which equals $98.63. Refund amount equals $1,200 minus $98.63 which equals $1,101.37.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of the cancellation effective date. Stripe processing fees on the original payment are not refundable as they are charged by Stripe at the time of payment and are not recoverable by USN.

To request a cancellation within the satisfaction guarantee period, contact us at sponsors@usn.network with the subject line Cancellation Request. Include your company name, contract start date, and reason for cancellation.

4. No Refunds After 90 Days

No refunds will be issued after the 90-day satisfaction guarantee period has expired. This applies regardless of the reason for cancellation including budget changes, business closure, dissatisfaction with results, or any other circumstance.

By remaining an active sponsor beyond the 90-day satisfaction guarantee period, you acknowledge that the full contract value has been committed to USN and that no further refund claim may be made.

Sponsors who wish to cancel after the satisfaction guarantee period may do so and their sponsorship will remain active until the end of the contracted term. Early termination after 90 days does not result in a refund but also does not result in any additional charges.

5. Athlete Referral Payout Impact

If your sponsorship contract was referred by a USN athlete using their referral code, please be aware of the following:

The referring athlete's referral payout is triggered only after your sponsorship has been active for 90 consecutive days. If you cancel your contract within the 90-day satisfaction guarantee window, the referring athlete's payout is voided entirely. The athlete receives nothing.

This policy is disclosed to all USN athletes at enrollment in the referral program. Athletes understand and accept this risk when they refer sponsors to the Platform.

USN believes this policy creates a healthy incentive structure. Athletes are motivated to refer sponsors who are genuinely committed to the Platform. Sponsors benefit from working with athletes who have a personal stake in the partnership's success.

6. Renewal Policy

Sponsorship renewals are not subject to this refund policy as a separate contract. Each renewal constitutes a new annual contract and carries its own 90-day satisfaction guarantee from the renewal start date.

Renewals do not trigger new athlete referral payouts regardless of whether a referral code is presented. The athlete referral program applies to initial contracts only.

7. Termination for Cause

Sponsorships terminated by USN for violation of the Platform's Terms of Service, brand safety concerns, or conduct inconsistent with USN's mission are not eligible for refund regardless of when the termination occurs. USN reserves the right to terminate any sponsorship for cause at any time without refund obligation.

8. Custom Sponsorship Deals

Custom sponsorship arrangements negotiated outside of USN's standard packages are subject to the refund terms specified in the individual contract. Where the individual contract is silent on refund terms, this policy applies by default.

9. Payment Processing Fees

All sponsorship payments are processed through Stripe. Stripe charges a processing fee at the time of payment which is deducted before funds reach USN. Stripe processing fees are not refundable by USN as they are charged by Stripe and are not recoverable. Refund calculations are based on the gross contract value paid by the sponsor, not the net amount received by USN after Stripe fees.

10. Disputes

If you believe a refund calculation is incorrect or have questions about this policy, contact us at sponsors@usn.network within 14 days of receiving your refund. Include your company name, contract details, and a description of the discrepancy. USN will review and respond within 10 business days.

11. Changes to This Policy

USN reserves the right to update this policy for future contracts. Changes will not apply to contracts already in effect at the time the change is announced. Sponsors will be notified of policy changes before their contract renewal date.
